This year, the football team Andy works with made it to the state championship. It was pretty excited for them since they had never gone that far in the playoffs before. The game was played the day after Thanksgiving. I worked the night before, came home for a nap, Andy went to ride in with the team and I loaded up all the kids for the drive to the football stadium. The kids were excited for a rode trip and the promise of snacks at the game.
We got there a little after the game started. The challenge was trying to find a parking spot in the area. We found a lot that was open and then had to walk probably 2 blocks to the stadium. Did I mention garmin took us through downtown Indy on the night the lights downtown were being lit? Had to do a bit of a re-route.

Plenty of seats were open where we sat. I like to give ourselves plenty of room to move around. And complain. And we were very close to the snacks.
I forced them to wait until half-time to get nachos, popcorn and water. I'm so mean. I also forced them to eat suckers.
It wasn't the best game to watch from our team's perspective. They ended up losing-a rough night for Westfield fans.
The team lined up for a final photo. We stayed until the very end and even watched the team get their medals.
Then we had to walk those two blocks back to our car. In the cold and dark. That was probably the worst part. The van soon warmed up and I put in a movie for the kids. Everything was good again. We didn't get home until late and getting in the house into beds was a little dicey, but we did it and now the kids have another cool experience to talk about.
